UML registers candidacy in all 165 constituencies, 54.54 per cent new faces

Kathmandu. The CPN-UML has registered its candidacies in all 165 constituencies in the by-election scheduled for March 4.

At a press conference organized at the party office here today, party publicity department chief Min Bahadur Shahi shared that the candidates including party Chairperson KP Sharma Oli had enthusiastically registered their candidacies in the same regard despite the enthusiastic participation of the party leaders, cadres and the public.

According to him, 54.54 per cent of the candidates put forward by the UML in this election are newcomers. Of them, 50÷50 per cent candidates are new in Madhes and Sudurpaschim provinces and 53.57 per cent in Koshi province.

Likewise, the highest number of new candidates are in Karnali Province at 75 per cent while at least Lumbini at 42.30 per cent, said Shahi.

Likewise, 60.60 per cent of new candidates are in Bagmati and 61.11 per cent in Gandaki.
