Kathmandu. The Election Commission has said that the candidates who have filed their candidacies for the election to the House of Representatives can withdraw their candidacy till 1:00 pm today.

As per the election schedule, candidacy can be withdrawn from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm today. The final list of candidates will be published from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm today. According to the EC, election symbols will be provided to the candidates from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

According to the election program for the first-past-the-post election system, the deadline for filing complaints against the claim was January 7. The timings are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The list of candidates was published from 3:00 pm on the same day to 5:00 pm on Thursday.

A total of 3,486 candidates have filed their candidacies in 165 constituencies across the country. The filing of nominations was completed simultaneously across the country on January 6. Of the total candidacies, 3,089 are male, 396 female and one other candidate.

The election to the House of Representatives is taking place on March 4. In the 275-member House of Representatives, 110 members will be elected through the proportional representation system and 165 through the first-past-the-post system.
