Still. Pokhara—The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Pokhara has registered 73 complaints against local levels in Tanahun district. As many as 73 complaints have been lodged at 10 local levels in the district till the date of the current fiscal year.
According to Udaya Parajuli, 16 complaints were registered against Shuklagandaki Municipality, 14 against Byas Municipality, 12 against Bhanu Municipality, 11 against Devghat Rural Municipality, seven against Abukhaireni Rural Municipality, seven against Bandipur Rural Municipality, four against Myagde, one against Bhimad Municipality and one against Ghiring Rural Municipality. Parajuli, however, said that no complaint has been filed against Rishing Rural Municipality.
Similarly, there are 27 cases related to the responsibility of the last fiscal year in the district. Parajuli said that out of 100 complaints lodged in the last fiscal year and current fiscal year, 38 were settled. Speaking at a programme organized by Devghat Rural Municipality and Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Pokhara office at Devghat Rural Municipality on Thursday, Parajuli shared information on how to file complaint against corruption and irregularities, the form of corruption, the offence and punishment (Clause 3 and 23 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059).
Narayan Prasad Regmi, chief of the office, said that there is no need to be afraid if complaints are lodged at the Commission. He said that a fair investigation would be conducted after the complaint was lodged and the innocent would be cleaned and the guilty would be punished as per the law. Til Bahadur Thapa, chairperson of Devghat Rural Municipality, said that the local levels have been harassing the local level by filing complaints with the CIAA.
