. The Election Commission (EC) has said that 15 million ballot papers have been printed under the proportional representation system.
The printing of ballot papers had begun on January 15 at the printing press of Janak Education Materials Centre Limited. Now, 50 lakh ballot papers are left to be printed.
According to the EC, the printing of ballot papers towards the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system will begin immediately after the printing of the ballot papers under the proportional representation (PR) system is completed.
The final list of candidates for the first-past-the-post (FPTP) category has been finalized. A copy of the voters’ list was printed and supplied to all the districts for the purpose of filing nomination papers.
The Election Commission (EC) has published the names of 3,406 candidates for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives scheduled for March 4. The EC also provided the election symbol on Friday.
According to EC Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, 3,017 males, 388 females and one other candidates have been finalized. The Election Commission has stated that the election program from the registration of candidacy to withdrawal was completed in a peaceful and enthusiastic manner.
The list of candidates under the proportional representation system has also been published.
