Baglung. The deadline for the recruitment of election police in Baglung has not been received even after extending the deadline three times.

A total of 1,487 candidates including 1,298 personnel from Nepal Police and 189 Armed Police Force (APF) have been demanded in the districts for the March 4 elections. However, only 1,051 applications have been received so far including 1,048 from Nepal Police and three from Armed Police Force, said Superintendent of Police (SP) Tilak Bharati, chief of the District Police Office, Baglung. So far, 823 men and 228 women have applied.

Applications were invited from January 13 to January 15. Superintendent of Police (SP) Bharati said that the application was extended by two more days on January 2 and 3 after the applications were not received as per the demand during the deadline. According to him, 436 more people are needed to meet the demand.

The deadline to apply has been extended till Sunday for the third time as the applications were not received as per the demand. Applicants can also apply from the District Police Office, Baglung, Area Police Office, Burtibang and Galkot.
