. The Supreme Court (SC) has issued a show-cause order in response to a writ petition filed by Resham Lal Chaudhary, chairman of the Nagarik Unmukti Party Nepal.

The court issued a show cause order in response to a writ petition filed by Chaudhary against the Election Commission’s decision to annul his candidacy.

A single bench of Justice Bal Krishna Dhakal issued the order after hearing the writ petition today.

Chaudhary has demanded that the decision of the returning officer of Kailali constituency-2 be annulled, saying that the election officer has canceled his candidacy illegally.

He has also demanded that his candidacy should be maintained and he should be allowed to contest in the election.
