Gorkha. Heavy snowfall has occurred in the northern part of the district.

According to the locals, it started snowing since 3:00 am today. Snowfall has occurred in Samdo and Samagaun of Chumnubri rural municipality-1, Lho and Syala of ward-2, Chumchet of ward-6 and nine settlements of ward-7.

“It started snowing at 3:00 am this morning,” said Pasang Phunjo Lama of Chumnubri-7. He said that the locals were happy that the crops would be good, there would be no dust, there would be no storm and there would be no fear of fire.

“It was not possible to even blow the fire in the courtyard of the house due to the constant storm”, he said, adding, “Now it has snowed”. The fear of fire was also removed. I couldn’t stay in the dust because of the storm. That would not be the case, and the wheat fields planted in November would also get water. Even the bushes in the forest were terrified of not being able to drink water. Now they will be able to drink water,” he said.

After the snowfall, the daily routine of the villagers has also changed. He said that everyone is now warming themselves by the fire inside the house and about a foot of snow has accumulated.
