Kathmandu. The profit of commercial banks has improved till mid-January of the current fiscal year. A total of 30 commercial banks have earned a net profit of Rs 30.59 billion till mid-January of the current fiscal year.
The profit increased by 11.51 percent compared to the second quarter of the previous FY. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 27.43 billion in the same period last year. During this period, the profit of the banks has improved due to the priority given to the recovery of loans issued by the banks.
The impact of the loan disbursed by the banks has been seen in the financial situation of the second quarter of the current fiscal year published by the bank.
As of mid-January, the profit of 11 banks has increased while the profit of 9 banks has decreased.
Nabil Bank is the top gainer in the world. Nabil Bank has earned a net profit of Rs 4.75 billion till mid-January.
Global IME Bank is in the second position followed by Kumari Bank in the third position. Kumari Bank has made a miraculous improvement in its profit. The bank’s net profit increased by 886.50 percent to Rs 2.72 billion.
Likewise, Everest Bank’s net profit increased by 2.04 percent to Rs 2.11 billion, Prime Bank by 9.27 percent to Rs 2.04 billion and Rastriya Banijya Bank’s profit by 132 percent to Rs 1.77 billion.
Similarly, Sanima Bank’s net profit increased by 16.67 percent to Rs 1.39 billion, Standard Chartered Bank by 150 percent to Rs 1.32 billion, Nepal SBI Bank by 14.56 percent to Rs 1.03 billion and Machhapuchchhre Bank by 25 percent to Rs 1.01 billion.
Similarly, NMB Bank declined by 17 per cent to Rs 1.64 billion, Nepal Investment Mega Bank by 43 per cent to Rs 1.61 billion, Himalayan Bank by 15 per cent to Rs 1.29 billion and Prabhu Bank by 24 per cent to Rs 1.01 billion.
Likewise, Agricultural Development Bank’s net profit declined by 26 percent to Rs 707.4 million, Citizen Bank by 45 percent to Rs 358 million and NIC Asia Bank by 13.54 percent to Rs 131.1 million.
Laxmi Sunrise Bank has a net profit of Rs 27.36 crore.
