Persa. Vehicles and spare parts worth Rs 18.15 billion have been imported through Birgunj Customs in the first six months of the current fiscal year. Imports of vehicles and spare parts worth Rs six billion more in the current fiscal year as compared to the same period last year.
Udaya Singh Bista, information officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, said that the import of vehicles has increased sharply in comparison to the last year. In the first six months of the current fiscal year, revenue collected Rs 13.98 billion from import of vehicles.
Whereas in the same period of the last fiscal year, Rs 10.21 billion was collected from the import of vehicles. As many as 434 jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 930 million have been imported through Birgunj border point in the first six months of the current fiscal year. Likewise, 32,331 motorcycles worth Rs 4.56 billion were imported.
A total of 380 trucks and mini-trucks worth Rs 1.06 billion have been imported. Likewise, 10,797 tractors and trailers worth Rs 1.23 billion were imported. A total of 456 electric jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 1.36 billion were imported.
