Ajaya Babu’s campaign heats up election atmosphere in Dolakha

Dolakha. Dolakha: The excitement surrounding the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 4 has intensified in Dolakha.

The Nepali Congress has fielded central member and influential youth leader Ajaya Babu Shiwakoti as its candidate. The candidacy of Shiwakoti, who has made a national identity, has received special attention.

Shiwakoti is known as a leader who represents youth leadership and a new perspective not only within the party but also within the constituency. Shiwakoti entered his political career from journalism. While working as a journalist, he had presented a critical perspective on various aspects of the society, people’s problems and the working style of the government.

Voters have also praised Shiwakoti for his role in bringing out the scandals of then Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Minister for Information and Communications Gokul Baskota. This experience and work has been positively evaluated by voters and local people.

Voters drew Shiwakoti’s attention on national politics, development works in the district, education, health, employment and basic infrastructures.

Stating that the service and trust of the people were his first priority, he pledged to put all his efforts to reach the parliament on the people’s trust.

In Dolakha, there is a tough competition between the candidates of NC, UML, CPN (Maoist Center) and other smaller parties. Meanwhile, Shiwakoti’s youth leadership, transparency and journalistic experience have made him stand out in the eyes of voters.

According to local political analysts, Shiwakoti’s candidacy has added enthusiasm and new energy not only to the Nepali Congress but also to the voters of Dolakha. If his ideas and plans reach the people, it is likely to affect the election results.

Shiwakoti’s campaign has been actively campaigning among voters through door-to-door, local assemblies and social media as the elections are approaching.

Dolakha, which had two constituencies until 2070 BS, has been transformed into a single federal constituency after the promulgation of the new constitution. There are 1,70,030 voters in Dolakha in the upcoming elections.

As the election atmosphere of Ajay Babu is progressing, the number of youths joining the Congress is also increasing. He also welcomed Biraj Shrestha, Rajiv Shrestha, Dor Bahadur Bhandari and Uddhav Bhujel of Tamakoshi Rural Municipality, Dolakha, who are affiliated to the CPN-UML.
