Nawalparasi. Addressing a large gathering of NC regional level cadres at Bardaghat-7 in view of the March 4 election, NC candidate for Nawalparasi (Basup) Constituency-1 and outgoing lawmaker Binod Chaudhary expressed his dream of seeing the country and his constituency prosperous.
Chaudhary, who won the election in 2079 BS from this constituency with a huge margin, said that the present objective of the Nepali Congress is to make Gagan Thapa the Prime Minister. “He’s a young leader with a vision. It is my dream to see the country and constituency under his leadership become prosperous. I am confident that the leadership of NC and Gagan Thapa will fulfill this dream,” he said.
According to Chaudhary, the base for industrialization in Nawalparasi-1 has been prepared and it will take concrete shape in the coming days. He claimed that the transformative NC would address the problems of youths migrating abroad, employment crisis, lack of quality education and lack of infrastructure.
Provincial lawmaker Bishwa Prem Pathak reminded the NC of its leadership role in the political transformation of Nepal and claimed that the NC itself would provide solutions to the agendas of the Jenji movement. “The special general convention has given a one-stage way out and the complete solution will come from the NC leadership after this election,” he said.
Speaking at the gathering, Nepali Congress district secretary Kuldeep Acharya pointed out the need to strengthen the organization from the ward level. “Strategically, the Centre should be led by working from the grassroots level,” he said.
Shambhu Lal Shrestha, mayor of Bardaghat Municipality, said the party cadres and the general public should be united to fulfill the resolution that the NC has changed, the country will change. According to him, a lot of work has been carried out in the sector in the last three years despite the limited resources.
Umesh Chandra Yadav, chairman of Pratappur Rural Municipality, said that it was imperative to elect Binod Chaudhary from the constituency to make Gagan Thapa the national leader. He also urged the party cadres to remain united without creating any disagreement within the party. The gathering was attended by leaders, cadres and representatives of 34 wards.
