PM Karki hints at second phase election in mountainous districts

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that the second phase of local level elections would be held in mountainous districts if the weather was not favourable.

She said this while participating in the concluding ceremony of the training of the National Service Dal at Hattikhor of Kawasoti Municipality-1 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).

Stating that the election would be conducted by ferrying voters to the places where there are fewer number of voters, she said the PM could think of holding the election in the second phase if it was not possible to do so.

She urged all to participate in the election on March 4 with confidence as the issue of postponing the election has not entered the country so far due to any reason. “I am confident that the country will move towards a new direction by holding the elections on time,” she said.

“We have put in our best efforts to hold the elections in a peaceful manner. Prime Minister Karki said that the election would be held after addressing some challenges as the election is taking place under special circumstances.
