Kathmandu. The Election Commission (EC) has said that the printing of ballot papers for the first-past-the-post (FPTP) election to the House of Representatives scheduled for March 4 has been completed.
Assistant spokesperson of the EC, Kul Bahadur GC, said that so far 72.60 lakh ballot papers have been printed from 60 electoral constituencies. The ballot papers of 25 districts have also been packed.
The printing of ballot papers in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces (except a few districts) has been completed. A total of 2 crore 3 lakh 23 thousand ballot papers have to be printed under the first-past-the-post category. The printing of ballot papers under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) category began on January 30 at Janak Education Materials Centre Limited after the printing of 20.4 million ballot papers under the proportional representation category.
The EC has continued the printing of ballot papers giving high priority to the districts of high mountainous and remote areas. The EC is preparing to send the ballot papers from February 8 to February 17. The election office has made arrangements to purchase 37 types of materials required for the election in the respective districts.
The Election Commission has purchased various types of election materials and sent them to the districts. Assistant spokesperson of the Election Commission, GC said that ballot papers and other election materials would be transported to the high hilly and mountainous districts where the road is reached, while the ballot papers and other election materials would be transported by helicopter in the high mountainous districts.
The Election Commission has said that the remaining election materials purchased during the 2079 BS election have been sent to the nearby districts in and around Kathmandu. White clothes, swastika seals and other materials were purchased in the previous elections.
