Two arrested for cheating people of Rs 17.5 million on the pretext of sending them to Australia and Slovakia

Kathmandu. Police have arrested two persons on the charge of cheating Rs 17.5 million on the pretext of sending them to Australia and Slovakia for employment.

The arrestees have been identified as Rupesh Lamichhane, 35, of Panchkhal municipality-3 in Kavrepalanchowk district and Hira Tamang, 35, of Khaneba rural municipality-3 of Dhading, according to Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office’s Superintendent of Police Rameshwor Karki.

Of them, Lamichhane was arrested acting on a complaint that Lamichhane was sent to Australia while Tamang went out of contact after receiving Rs 850,000 in the name of sending him to Slovakia. Both of them have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment Tahachal today itself for further investigation and necessary actions, said spokesperson Karki.
