Kathmandu. The National Assembly has endorsed the ‘National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081’. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anil Kumar Sinha presented the proposal on behalf of Prime Minister and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sushila Karki, seeking the passage of the bill.

Prior to this, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sinha, on behalf of Prime Minister and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Karki, presented a proposal seeking discussion on the bill along with the report of the Legislation Management Committee. The proposal was unanimously approved by the assembly.

Lawmakers Dr Beduram Bhusal, Sumitra BC and Rukmini Koirala took part in the discussions on the proposal. Responding to the queries raised during the discussions, Minister Sinha said that the Act was needed to address various dimensions including investigation.

The National Assembly will next meet at 1:15 pm on February 10.
