Five arrested for fraud on the pretext of sending them to America, UK and other countries

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Police have arrested five persons on the charge of swindling millions of rupees in the name of sending them abroad for foreign employment.

The arrestees have been identified as Bina Maharjan, 43, Binda Maharjan, 45, of Dhapakhel, Lalitpur, Kopila Sharma, 43, of Kathekhola Rural Municipality-2, Baglung, Santosh Rai, 31, of Dhankuta Municipality-2 and Kumari Tamang, 48, of Chaurideurili Municipality-9, Kavre.

Of them, Bina and Binda went missing on the basis of a complaint filed by Bina and Binda who received Rs 1.3 million for sending them to the United Kingdom, Rs 370,000 for Santosh to Cambodia and Rs 1.3 million 60,000 for sending Kumari to Portugal. ”

Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhatta said that the arrestees have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment Tahachal for necessary investigation and action.
