Govt extends deadline of probe commission by 25 days

Kathmandu. The government has extended the term of the commission of inquiry set up to investigate the Jenji agitation by 25 days.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers today extended the term of the commission for the third time by 25 days. The government had extended the deadline till February 11 for the second time.

Spokesperson of the government and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal said that the government has extended the deadline for the third time by 25 days.

“The government has decided to extend the deadline of the commission formed to submit a report after conducting a thorough investigation into the physical and human losses suffered during the demonstrations on September 23 and 24 as per the decision of the Council of Ministers on September 19, 2002,” he said.

The government had formed a three-member commission under the leadership of former judge of the Special Court, Gauri Bahadur Karki, to investigate into the incident of physical and human loss during the Jenji agitation on September 21.
