Kathmandu. Ncell has partnered with digital agriculture platform Super Kisan to provide digital and premium agriculture services to farmers across Nepal. The main objective of this collaboration is to provide modern agricultural services to all farmers easily through mobile phones.

This collaboration marks a historic step towards Nepal’s journey to digitize agriculture and reduce the digital divide in agriculture. So far, more than 30,000 farmers in the country have registered on the Super Krishan platform.

The platform provides online agricultural training, agricultural doctors, and digital tools and services such as Agri China (Satellite Monitoring) that enable farmers to self-assess by obtaining real-time agricultural consultations, identifying pest and crop problems, and crop monitoring information from their mobile phones.

With this collaboration, farmers in every district of the country will be able to get advanced, affordable and locally tailored agricultural consultations through their mobile phones. From the high hills to the plains, farmers now have access to expert advice and modern technology.

With vast network reach and millions of active customers, Super Farquhar’s premium services are now available as a value-added telecommunication service for common farmers. With this, farmers can easily avail agriculture services from their mobile balance just like they have subscribed to voice, data and SMS services for the first time in Nepal.

Farmers can avail this service through the Super Kisan App. Subscription packages of different periods are available in this app. Those who want to buy one year pack in installments will have to pay Rs 13 every three days at the annual cost of Rs 1,560. Similarly, for six months, they have to pay Rs 14 every three days, totaling Rs 840.

Farmers who make a lump sum payment can pay Rs 756 for six months and Rs 1,248 for one year. The fee applicable after taking the appropriate service is deducted from the main balance.

Farmers can avail of training modules that include detailed and step-by-step learning materials on modern farming techniques under the premium service. With the help of Agricultural Doctor, farmers can identify more than 800 crop diseases, pests and other problems through AI.

This service also identifies the crop problem and suggests solutions as per the need. Similarly, farmers can access fact-based personal counseling in the local language at the time of need.

Ncell and Super Kisan plan to provide this service to more than 1,20,000 farmers within the next one year. This significant step is expected to contribute significantly to enhancing agricultural knowledge, bridging the gap between farmers and experts, and bridging the digital divide that exists in rural Nepal.
