NCP General Secretary Rishi Kattel and four others arrested from Kirtipur

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) General Secretary Rishi Kattel has been arrested on the charge of his involvement in anti-election activities.

Spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office and Superintendent of Police Rameshwor Karki said Kattel was arrested from Kirtipur today. So far, four people have been arrested along with Kattel on the charge of anti-election activities.

Likewise, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal (Majority) Dharmendra Bastola, leader Bishnu Prasad Timilsina and SP Sah of Durga Prasain-led group were also arrested on Tuesday night. They had said they would boycott the election.

Police have kept them under surveillance as some smaller political parties including the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and NCP have been boycotting the elections and carrying out anti-election activities.
