Chitwan. Fuel service has resumed at Bharatpur airport. Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has started fuel refilling service from Wednesday.
Executive Director of NAC, Dr Chandika Prasad Bhatta, said that the refilling counter has come into operation with the increase in the number of vehicles travelling to Bharatpur. He said that the service has been started so that passengers do not face inconvenience due to the use of aviation fuel.
Currently, eight flights are taking place from Nepal on a daily basis, he said, adding arrangements have been made to fill fuel by air plane as per the need.
According to NOC Spokesperson Manoj Kumar Thakur, two refilling counters have been set up in Bharatpur from where 22,000 liters of aviation fuel can be supplied daily. Currently, the service has been started with six employees stationed at the company’s Sinamangal office, he informed.
Currently, flights to Bharatpur-Kathmandu-Bharatpur are being operated daily and partly from Bharatpur-Pokhara-Bharatpur. Station Manager of Buddha Air, Bhakta Bahadur Basnet, said that the establishment of the refill counter has made it easier for passengers and aircraft. “Now there will be no problem of bringing oil by plane, due to which more passengers can be brought in the aircraft coming from Kathmandu,” he said.
