Kathmandu. The CPN-UML has unveiled its manifesto for the 2082 House of Representatives elections. Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli unveiled the manifesto at a programme held on Thursday.
Similarly, youths between 18 to 28 years of age will be provided 10 GB internet data every month free for one year and a dollar card worth Rs 10,000 to youths and entrepreneurs.
It has promised to orient 10 lakh youths towards self-employment by facilitating the use of information technology and online services related training and services. The CPN-UML has urged the government to immediately add Rs 5,000 to the bank accounts of the workers who send remittances to the migrant workers. As per the manifesto, the UML will provide interest-free loan of up to Rs 2 million to the students aspiring to pursue higher education in the technical sector, Rs 20,000 allowance to the health volunteers and social security.
The manifesto also announced Rs 20,000 as maternity allowance and free life insurance up to Rs 500,000. The CPN-UML has decided to waive loans up to Rs 25,000 taken from banks and financial institutions till September 2082. The UML manifesto has pledged to fix the dignity of teachers, to include them in the social security system, to ensure a dignified life along with professional dignity, facilities, social security, health treatment and skill development for the dignity and welfare of the security personnel. Similarly, the manifesto has also pledged to provide free pads to adolescent girls and lunch to students up to grade 10.
5 lakh jobs created
The CPN-UML has pledged to create 5 lakh jobs annually through high economic growth and another 100,000 jobs through targeted employment programs including information technology.
The manifesto has pledged to double the contribution of the industrial sector to the gross domestic product by expanding the industrial sector, development of tourism infrastructure, expansion of air service and internal security of the country.
The manifesto has pledged to expand irrigation facility to additional 300,000 hectares of land within five years, develop hospital infrastructures at all local levels, provide modern equipment, ensure quality of service and manage human resources to provide world-class health services within the country. The manifesto has promised to make all roads into two lanes and one-lane roads into two-lanes.
The UML has pledged to maintain respectful relations with all countries and reject any encroachment on the sovereignty, self-determination and territorial integrity of any country.
