Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a person with a laptop and mobile phones worth Rs 13.80 lakh from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) today.

The arrested is Sanjeev Khadka, 34, of Lalbandi municipality-1 in Sarlahi, according to Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office (TIA) Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police (SP) Raj Kumar Silwal.

He said, “The man was arrested while he was walking suspiciously outside the Golden Gate of Tribhuvan International Airport while he was trying to illegally collect electronic materials by forcing passengers coming to Nepal from abroad to evade customs duty.” ”

According to Silwal, the arrestees were found trying to smuggle electronic goods worth Rs 800,000 of four units of iPhone 17 Promax 256 GB, M4 MacBook Air 256 GB and M4 MacBook Air 512 GB worth Rs 320,000.
