Dhading. At least 17 people were killed and 17 others were injured when a passenger bus met with an accident near Benighat Rorang rural municipality-7 in Dhading district on Sunday morning.

The passenger bus (Ga 2 Kha 1421) en route to Kathmandu from Pokhara skidded off the road and plunged into the river. A total of 11 men and six women died on the spot.

Among them, one is a woman and a man are foreign nationals. The bus was carrying 44 passengers. A total of 26 injured people have been rescued and sent to hospital.

All the injured have been rescued from the accident site. Some of the injured have been receiving treatment at the local health facilities while most of the injured have been sent to Kathmandu.

All the three security personnel and locals of the district had rescued them.
