Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has urged the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) to take immediate action as per the prevailing law if the prohibited activities were carried out during the election period and if any activities were found carried out in any places, the Ministry of Home Affairs should inform the Election Commission about the prohibited activities.

Issuing a press release today, the Ministry of Home Affairs has directed all the Chief District Officers and security bodies to fully comply with the election code of conduct during the election publicity prohibition period, which will come into effect from 12:00 midnight on March 3, and to mobilize the individuals and mechanisms designated by the District Code of Conduct Monitoring Committee to implement the Clause 24 of the Election (Offence and Punishment) Act, 2073 BS and the Election Code of Conduct. It has been requested to inform about the action taken against those who have done special acts as per Sections 17 and 18 of the Act, 2082.
