Pokhara. Rashmi Acharya, the CPN-UML’s candidate for the upcoming House of Representatives election from Kaski Constituency-2, has made public her property details.

Unveiling his property details at a youth gathering at Lamgadi on Thursday, he said he has always stood for transparency, good governance and accountability.

According to the details made public, Acharya does not have any property in his name. The ancestral land is in his father’s name. Acharya clarified that he earned money from his writing and his wife’s job.

“I have moved ahead with the highest ideals of honesty and morality. I have not cheated anyone so far, nor will I do so tomorrow,” Acharya said, adding, “I have informed you about what I have today and will inform you regularly tomorrow.” ’

He added that it was the responsibility of the people to make public the property details not only after reaching the post but also during the candidacy phase. Although there is a tradition of making public the property details only after being elected, he made it clear that he made public the details in advance with the intention of informing the general voters.

Locals believe that Acharya, who has filed his candidacy with selfless service keeping prosperity and development as ‘Arjuna’s vision’, made public his property details with the people of his native land as witnesses is an example of political honesty.
