Humla. The District Administration Office, Humla has banned the sale and distribution of alcohol throughout the district with effect from Friday.
Assistant Chief District Officer Rajendra Kumar Chand said the decision was taken to halt the House of Representatives elections scheduled for February 4 in a free, fair, dignified and peaceful environment.
According to a press release issued by the District Administration Office on Friday, the sale and distribution and consumption will not be allowed throughout the district until the election results are declared after the completion of the election.
According to the administration, this decision has been taken to make the upcoming elections peaceful and systematic. Assistant Chief District Officer Chand said action would be taken as per the prevailing law if anyone was found selling or consuming liquor in defiance of this act of administration.
The District Administration Office has urged all the stakeholders and the general public to follow the notice.
