Ramechhap accident: One dead, seriously injured sent to Kathmandu

Ramechhap. One more person died in a road accident at Sirubari of Ramechhap municipality-2 in Ramechhap district.

The mini-truck (Na 4 Kha 6768) carrying the election team for the March 4 met with an accident this afternoon. One died on the spot while another died in treatment, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Assistant Sub Inspector of Police RP Yadav and Dor Prasad Ghimire, a teacher at Rudraksheshwor Secondary School Mugitar deputed at the Saghutar Ward Office ‘B’ polling centre, informed the Manthali Hospital’s Medical Superintendent Keshav Singh Dhami.

Seven others were injured in the accident. Among the injured, Sabina Khadka,28, of Khandadevi rural municipality-4, Sabina Khadka, 28, of Ramechhap municipality-2, Kedar Kumar Rokka, 47, of Manthali municipality-3, Krishna Prasad Ghimire, a teacher at Bhimeshwor Prasun Kandel Secondary School and Durga Karki, 25, of Lalbandi municipality in Sarlahi district have been sent to Kathmandu for treatment, according to the District Police Office.

The vehicle was carrying election materials from three booths—Deurali and Sanghutar—along with security personnel and election officers. The vehicles carrying election materials of Deurali Secondary School were carrying election materials from two polling centres located at Sirubari and Himganga Secondary School Sanghutar when the accident took place, said Rajan Prasad Timilsina, information officer at the District Police Office. The vehicle fell some 200 meters down from the road.
