Kathmandu. Deputy Governors Neelam Dhungana Timsina and Bam Bahadur Mishra have resigned from the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) today.

Their term ends on Sunday, May 24. The central bank’s deputy governors left before the end of their term.

The government formed after the Jenji agitation on September 7 and 24 has set the date for the election to the House of Representatives on March 4.

The government has declared a public holiday on May 20, 21 and 22 in connection with the election. They left the Nepal Rastra Bank on Tuesday as it was Saturday, the 23rd. Mishra said that he left the Nepal Rastra Bank on Tuesday as he did not go to the office on that day even though he had a tenure till the 24th.

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is bidding farewell to the board on September 25 after the board of directors and top management bid farewell on Tuesday. According to sources, a formal program has been set for this.

Timsina and Mishra left on Tuesday only for work. According to sources, on Tuesday, the top management and board members thanked Dhungana and Mishra for their service as deputy governors of the central bank for 5 years. On behalf of the central bank and all the employees, they will bid farewell on the 25th.

With this, the post of 2 deputy governors in the central bank has become vacant.

Now, out of the 18 executive directors in the central bank, two will be deputy governors. For this, Governor Dr. Bishwanath Poudel will recommend the names of 4 candidates to the government. Dr. The Cabinet will appoint two deputy governors for the next five years by taking the names of four members presented by Poudel to the Finance Ministry. The main task of the provisional government formed after the Jenji movement was to conduct elections. The election is going to be held tomorrow. The central bank is also appointing a deputy governor.

Whether the deputies are appointed by this government or by another government is a matter of everyone’s concern.
