Kathmandu. Candidates who claim to be the prime minister before the election will not be able to vote for themselves in the House of Representatives election to be held on Thursday.

Candidates can be fielded from any constituency during the election. Voting is available only in one’s designated area. Voters can vote in the election only in the area where they are permanently residing and at the designated polling place in such areas.

The candidates who are currently in the news will not be able to vote as they have filed their candidacies outside the constituencies where their names are in the voters’ list.

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli is contesting from Jhapa-5 in the upcoming elections. His voter list is in Balkot of Suryabinayak Municipality in Bhaktapur district. He will cast his vote in Bhaktapur-2 this time too.

Similarly, Coordinator of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will not be able to vote himself this time. He is contesting from Rukum East. His voters’ list is in Chitwan-3.

He will cast his vote from Shantipur polling centre in Bharatpur-14.

Similarly, Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa will not be able to vote himself. He is a voter of Kathmandu-4. The candidate is from Sarlahi-4.

Likewise, outgoing mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Sah, who is contesting from Jhapa-5, will not be eligible to vote himself. Shah will cast his vote in Kathmandu.

Rabi Lamichhane, president of Rastriya Samajbadi Party, is contesting from Chitwan-2. He will also not be able to vote for himself. He will cast his vote in Kathmandu-3.

Pradip Poudel, a voter of Tanahun-2, is currently contesting from Kathmandu-5. He will also not be able to vote for himself.

Similarly, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RSP) candidate from Tanahun-1 Dr. Swarnim Wagle will also not be able to vote for himself. He is a voter of Gorkha.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Rabindra Mishra is a voter from Kathmandu-1. He is a voter of Lalitpur-3. He will also not be able to vote for himself.
