Kathmandu. Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has said voting is underway in a peaceful environment throughout the country.
Talking briefly to media persons after casting his vote, he said voting was taking place in all 77 districts with enthusiastic participation of voters.
“The voting began in a systematic and enthusiastic manner since 7:00 am. The presence of voters and peace and security is very good,” he said, adding that the voting would be completed within one to two minutes after receiving the ballot papers. ”
He appealed to all the stakeholders, voters, political parties and candidates to cooperate in an enthusiastic and peaceful voting. He informed that the counting of votes would take place after the ballot boxes are collected after the completion of the voting.
He said that the EC is trying to make public the results of the first-past-the-post (FPTP) category within 24 hours of the counting of votes. He also said that more than 65 percent of the votes are expected to be cast based on the enthusiasm of the youths in the voting.
