Jhapa. Ballot boxes are being collected from the polling centres for the House of Representatives election and transported to the offices of the election officers of the concerned areas.

Election Officer Tulsi Nepal said the vote counting would begin as per the decision of an all-party meeting of the political parties after the ballot boxes were collected. The counting of votes will begin at 12:00 midnight. According to the Election Office, 65 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the district.

Voting was held peacefully at 285 polling stations and 815 polling centres in all five electoral constituencies of the district. A total of 90 candidates were in the fray for the five constituencies. There were 358,346 males, 355,183 females and eight others.
