Rukum East. Ballot boxes from three polling centres in Rukum (East) have been brought to the Office of the Election Officer by Nepal Army helicopter. Ballot boxes from three places that do not have access to road network and take a day on foot have been brought to the district headquarters Rukumkot by helicopter.
Ballot boxes from Pakhapani polling centre of Sisne rural municipality-1, Himal Abi Pelma polling centre of Putha Uttarganga rural municipality-2 and Hardibang polling centre of the same ward have been brought to the district headquarters by helicopter.
Ballot boxes from other polling stations are being brought. Assistant Election Officer and Information Officer Ishwori Prasad Subedi said that the ballot boxes would be collected from all the places by midnight.
According to him, the vote counting would begin after holding an all-party meeting on Friday morning. There were 34,772 voters in Rukum East with 56 polling centres.
According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer, the results of the total votes cast in the district are yet to be received as there is no telephone connection in all the places. A total of 11 candidates including Nepali Communist Party Coordinator and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal are contesting in Rukum (East).
