Palpa. Dr Madhav Bahadur Thapa of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Palpa-2.
He garnered 26,736 votes in the House of Representatives election held on Thursday.
His nearest rival was NC’s Himal Dutta Shrestha who got 12,992 votes, said Assistant Election Officer Keshav Parajuli.
Similarly, Thakur Prasad Gaire of CPN-UML got 10,503 votes, Som Prasad Pandey of Nepali Communist Party got 5,288 votes and Dev Prasad Shrestha of National Republic Nepal got 693 votes. In the previous election, Thakur Gaire of CPN-UML had won the election.
