UML’s Thagunna elected in Darchula

Darchula. In Darchula, CPN-UML candidate Ganesh Singh Thagunna has been elected to the House of Representatives. He garnered 18,899 votes to win the House of Representatives election held last Thursday.

According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer, Thagunna’s nearest rival Dharma Nanand Joshi of Nepali Congress got 15,836 votes.

Similarly, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)’s Rajesh Singh Samant got 8,936 votes and Laxman Joshi of Nepali Communist Party got 3,065 votes.

A total of 11 candidates were in the fray for the House of Representatives election in the district this time. According to Chief Election Officer Bhuwan Giri, out of a total of 92,948 voters in the district, 43,860 votes were cast.

Newly elected parliamentarian candidate Thagunna thanked all the voters who voted for him and expressed his commitment to work continuously for the development of the district and the welfare of the people.
