NC’s Janak Raj Giri wins in Bajura, UML’s Thapa defeats

Bajura. Nepali Congress candidate Janak Raj Giri has been elected to the House of Representatives from Bajura with 17,173 votes.

His nearest rival, Lal Bahadur Thapal, of CPN-UML, got 16,633 votes, according to Chief Election Officer Sanjeev Pokharel.

According to Pokharel, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RSP)’s Hemraj Thapa got 6,035 votes, Prakash Bahadur Shah of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) got 3,428 votes, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)’s Keshar Bahadur Shahi got 352 votes and Nepal Communist Party (Maoist)’s Bhupendra BK got 333 votes.

Of the total 87,861 voters, 45,390 votes were cast. According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer, Bajura, 43,896 votes were validated in the counting of votes.
