Gorkha. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Kabindra Burlakoti has won the by-election to the House of Representatives from Gorkha-2.
As per the vote count, Burlakoti garnered 26,660 votes, election officer Mohan Prasad Belbase said. His nearest rival was NC’s Prakash Chandra Duwadi who got 11,700 votes.
Nepali Communist Party candidate Lekhnath Neupane got 11,073 votes, according to election officer Belbase. CPN-UML’s Milan Gurung got 3,087 votes.
Of the total 155,533 voters, 57,156 votes were cast in the constituency. Of them, 54,147 votes were valid while 3,009 votes were invalid, according to the Election Office.
