. The United Nations has endorsed the proposal related to the International Health Day at the proposal of Nepal. The General Assembly passed the proposal today. This day is celebrated every year on April 15 in different countries of the world.

According to Nepal’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Lok Bahadur Thapa, the proposal states that health does not only mean the prevention of disease, but also physical, mental, social, cultural, emotional and environmental well-being.

The proposal also underscores the need for promoting preventive health services, healthy lifestyle and inclusive health systems for building a strong and sustainable society around the world.

Expressing gratitude to all the nations for their cooperation and support in the process of endorsing the proposal, Ambassador Thapa said that this is an important diplomatic achievement for Nepal.
