Lahan’s Dental Clinic: Doctor’s name on board

Sirha. The Nepal Medical Council (NMC) on Wednesday conducted an emergency on-site inspection of various dental clinics in Lahan and found serious facts that non-doctors were providing treatment to non-doctors.

A team led by Dr Ajay Kumar Sah, coordinator of the Professional Conduct and Health Committee under the Nepal Medical Council (NMC), inspected some dental clinics at Hospital Chowk in Lahan-3.TAG_OPEN_div_19

During the inspection, it was found that the health services were being run at Himal Dental Clinic, Radha Krishna Dental Clinic and West Radha Dental Clinic without qualified specialist doctors.TAG_OPEN_div_17 In these clinics, patients are being treated only with the help of manpower who has studied dental hygienists for about two and a half years.

According to the Council, some operators have been found to be treating other doctors on their own by putting their names on the board, signing the acts of doctors and operating clinics against the prevailing Health Act, Regulations and Standards.TAG_OPEN_div_15

The operator of Sagarmatha Dental Clinic had closed the clinic and fled after receiving information that the monitoring team had arrived.TAG_OPEN_div_13 Coordinator of the monitoring team, Dr Ajay Kumar Sah, said that running the clinic without qualified doctors was a serious violation of the law. “Running a dental clinic without qualified doctors is not only against the law but also poses a direct risk to the health and lives of the public,” he said. On the basis of the complaints received, we have identified such illegal clinics by conducting field monitoring and action will be taken against the culprits as per the prevailing laws. ”
