Kathmandu. As many as 65,886 Nepali citizens have registered their details in the online registration system operated by the Department of Consular Services under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the post-conflict conflict in West Asia.
The Ministry has said that the process has been forwarded for action as per the need after studying the details so registered. The conflict in the Middle East has escalated after the United States and Israel invaded Iran. The online portal was brought into operation by the Department since March 1 for the purpose of rescuing Nepali citizens from there and providing necessary assistance.
Director General of the Department, Duparda Sapkota, said that the portal is collecting the details of Nepali citizens through the Nepali embassies in the area.
The Ministry and Nepali diplomatic missions in West Asia are active to ensure safety, welfare and welfare of Nepali nationals in the West Asia. Spokesperson at the Ministry Lok Bahadur Poudel Chhetri said that the Nepali missions in the area are continuously coordinating with rescue and assistance to the Nepali in distress.
The second meeting of the ‘Emergency Response Team’ led by Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai on Wednesday decided to make contacts with Nepalis in trouble via email, phone or other appropriate means as well as to boost their morale and report after collecting their feedback.
The Ministry has urged all Nepali nationals in the West Asia region to remain restrained, aware and not to record or share any kind of photos, videos and audio materials against the law.
