Kathmandu. The Election Commission (EC) has finalized the number of seats for the parties under the proportional representation category.
According to the EC, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has won the highest number of seats with 57 seats. Similarly, Nepali Congress has won 20 seats and CPN-UML has won 16 seats.
Similarly, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has secured 9 seats while Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has secured 4 seats.
According to the EC, 1,12,80,617 votes were cast under the proportional representation category, out of which 10,835,025 votes (9,605 per cent) were validated.
According to Clause 60 (2) of the Election of the Members of the House of Representatives Act, 2074, the number of seats has been determined for the six parties exceeding the threshold (3 percent) set by the prevailing election law on the basis of the total number of valid votes received by the respective parties.
