Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — The Nepali Congress (NC) is preparing to submit the proportional representation (PR) list of the House of Representatives to the Election Commission (EC).
A meeting of the party’s central work execution committee held at the party’s central office at BP Memorial Building in BP Nagar, Lalitpur took the decision to submit the names as per the earlier decision, said party spokesperson and central committee member Devraj Chalise.
According to him, the meeting has decided to select the members of the House of Representatives on the basis of the number of seats secured by the political parties from among the candidates in the closed list of proportional representation and send them to the Election Commission.
The Nepali Congress has won 20 seats in the proportional representation (PR) category. Chalise said that the names were recommended by separating the clusters as per the instructions given by the commission. He said that at least 15 women have been recommended as per the recommendation.
He added that the name has not been made public yet. The Nepali Congress has won 18 seats in the FPTP category. Only one woman candidate has won the election.
