Preparations underway to resume vehicular movement from BP Highway damaged by floods and landslides

Kavrepalanchok. The reconstruction of BP Highway, which was damaged by frequent floods and landslides, is currently going on in full swing.

The construction of the BP Highway (TAG_OPEN_div_26 160 km Dhulikhel-Sindhuli-Bardibas) was started in the fiscal year 2053/54 BS with the grant assistance of the Japanese government. The government of Japan had formally handed over the construction of the highway to the Government of Nepal on Asar 1, 2072 BS. The highway is taken as a short route connecting the central capital Kathmandu with mid-hill and eastern Nepal.
