Kathmandu. Kathmandu – The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started a separate dry waste management task in a bid to reduce the amount of garbage transported to Bancharedanda. For this, the metropolis has started separate dry waste management works from all 10 wards.
Chief of Environment Management Department of KMC, Sarita Rai, said that around 3.19 metric tons less waste is being managed daily at the landfill site from the Kathmandu Valley. According to him, the metropolis has divided its geographical area into seven zones and has earned Rs 60.8 million and Rs 60.8 million annually for the sale of dry waste from all 32 wards.
Wards 7, 12, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 27 have started the dry waste management. A dry waste management centre has been set up in each area. According to the Income Contract Procedure 2079, Nepsemak Service Pvt Ltd has been selected from among the competitors for the constituency number 1. The constituency comprises wards 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7.
Practical Waste Solutions Pvt Ltd has been selected for constituency no 2. These include wards 1, 11, 28, 29 and 30. In Constituency No. 3, Creative Cleaning Pvt Ltd has accepted a contract of Rs 5,535,891 annually. The constituency comprises wards 6, 8 and 9.
Mechi Poly Industry has made 115,04,404 bids in Constituency No. 4. These include wards 16, 17 and 26. Ward no 13, 14 and 15 have been included in the constituency number 5. Nepal Energy Development Company has taken responsibility for the project. The constituency number 6 consists of wards 10, 31 and 32. Poly Waste Management has been given the responsibility in this area.
