Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Rameshwor Prasad Khanal has held a meeting with the chiefs of the banks and financial sector of the country.

Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr Bishwanath Poudel, Nepal Insurance Authority Chairman Chandra Kala Poudel and Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) Chairman Santosh Narayan Shrestha were present in the meeting.

On the occasion, Finance Minister Khanal thanked the regulators for their role in maintaining macroeconomic stability, creating favourable environment for investment, making capital market transparent and investment-friendly and maintaining fiscal good governance during his tenure as Finance Minister, said Ministry’s Joint Secretary and Spokesperson Tanka Prasad Pandey.

On the occasion, the chiefs of the regulatory bodies reminded that the collaboration with Finance Minister was fruitful and expressed gratitude to Finance Minister for the policy and guidelines adopted by the Finance Ministry for the development of Nepal’s banks and financial sector and maintaining fiscal discipline.

This government was formed after the Jenji agitation on September 23 and 24. The government had the mandate to hold elections. The term of this government is coming to an end. With the formation of the new government, the term of the government will end.
