Khotang. At least six people were injured when an Air Dynasty helicopter crashed at Balabesi of Kepilasgadhi rural municipality-2 in the district today. The helicopter carrying five passengers from Kathmandu had reached Balabensi of Khartamchha at 12:02 pm when it hit the wall while landing.

Kaji Bahadur Rai, 65, of Lalitpur was injured in the crash, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Prakash Budhathoki. Kazi Bahadur has sustained injuries in his right leg and eye in the accident.

Injured Kaji Bahadur and pilot Sabin Thapa were airlifted to Kathmandu at 12:35 pm in another helicopter with the number 9-NANA of Air Dynasty Company. According to Milan Rai, ward chair of Khartamchha, Kaji Bahadur was rescued while being crushed by the helicopter.

Relatives of 77-year-old Mana Laxmi Rai of Balabesi who died in the UK a month ago had arrived in the helicopter to perform the last rites.
