Kathmandu. The Navratri festival of Chaitra Dashain begins today on the occasion of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada.

KATHMANDU: Goddess Nawadurga is worshipped at the Hanumandhoka Durbar on the occasion of Chaitra Navratri today.

Executive Director of Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee, Laxman Panthi, said that the auspicious time for Chaitra Navratri Ghatasthapana is 7.51 am. He also said that the time has been given to return to the north today.

On this occasion, devotees queue up at temples and goddesses across the country for worship and worship. According to classical rules, there are four Navratras in a year.

The four Navratri festivals are celebrated in a year – Ashadh Shukla Paksha, Ashwin Shukla Paksha, Paush Shukla Paksha and Magh Shukla Paksha. In Nepali tradition, the Navratri of Ashadh and Paush Shukla Paksha is also known as Lupt Navratri.
