Parsa issues 33 citizenship certificates in mother’s name in a month

Kathmandu. The District Administration Office has issued 33 citizenship certificates in the name of the mother since February 18. The Citizenship (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2082 were approved by the Council of Ministers and published in the Gazette by the Office of the Citizenship (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2082.

The Office has provided citizenship to the citizens without citizenship meeting the criteria of the Citizenship Act and Citizenship Rules, 2082. The Office has started issuing citizenship certificates in the name of mother to the citizens fulfilling the prescribed documents and criteria from February 18.

Bijay Kumar Sah of Birgunj Metropolitan City-11 in Parsa said that he felt much easier after getting citizenship in the name of his mother. “We had to walk for many years to obtain citizenship certificate”, he said, adding, “We are now free from various administrative hassles after getting citizenship in the name of mother.” ’

Zubair Ansari of Birgunj Metropolis-13 said he has made a big achievement after obtaining the citizenship after a long struggle. “The pain of not being denied citizenship is very painful,” he said, adding, “I am very happy now that I got citizenship in my mother’s name.” Assistant Chief District Officer of Parsa, Suman Kumar Karki, said that the government has started issuing citizenship in the name of mother after the Nepal Citizenship (Fourth Amendment) Regulation-2082 was approved by the Council of Ministers and published in the gazette.

“We have started providing citizenship to the citizens meeting the criteria set by the Nepal Citizenship Regulations, 2082,” he said, adding, “We have felt that it is a big relief to the citizens who have been deprived of their rights due to lack of citizenship.”
