Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Affairs has penalized two firms on the charge of illegally breaching the law.
The Department has slapped a fine of two hundred and five thousand rupees to the Jamaktel Pharmacy based in Sinamangal of Kathmandu Metropolitan City after it was found to be negligent in course of field monitoring.
Similarly, Khwop Hardware based in Sallaghari, Bhaktapur has been fined Rs 20,000. Action was taken against both the firms as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075.
Likewise, the department has issued corrective directives to 11 more firms. The department has been regularly monitoring the market in the presence of local administration, consumer rights activists and stakeholders.
