. A total of 717 new cottage and small industries have been registered in the district till mid-March of the current fiscal year 2082/83.

Information Officer at the Office of Cottage and Small Industry, Khina Timsina, said 316 firms related to industry and 401 commercial firms were registered at the Office during the period. A total of 635 industries and 627 commercial industries were renewed in the district during the period.

Information Officer Timsina said that 123 industries including 125 industries and 88 commercial industries were scrapped in the first eight months of the current fiscal year in the district. According to him, although the number of people coming to the office to close down the industries is low, many industries that have not been renewed have already closed down.

The office has collected revenue of Rs 135,59,800 under various headings in the first eight months of the current fiscal year.
