Kathmandu. New York’s LaGuardia Airport was grounded on Monday morning after a plane crashed into the runway.

An Air Canada Express passenger plane collided with a vehicle on the runway while taking off from Montreal.

Footage of the front and cockpit area of the plane being severely damaged has emerged on social media, with rescue and emergency services responding actively to the scene.

The U.S. Civil Aviation Administration issued a ground stop on all flights, and local emergency authorities warned of cancellations and delays for passengers and transportation.

It is not yet known how many people were injured in the crash and an investigation is ongoing, officials said.
